Ibi was was  born and raised in Port Harcourt, where he trained in medicine.  Coming to England with his wife, Eno, and daughter, Sotonye, Ibi continued his medical profession, settling in Sheffield, where he first encountered TASTE.

More recently, Ibi has been running a specialist kidney service in Greater Manchester, whilst making numerous trips home to advise on kidney disease management.
